Google helps web sites to be more social

The browser launches Friend Connect, a tool that allows mainstream social services to any website.
To insert the elements that must socials just paste a code.
The websites that are not social networks can incorporate Web 2.0 services through a new service called Google Friend Connect. The system uses open protocols that allow anyone to create applications that run on user data networks like MySpace, LinkedIn, Plaxo, Hi5, Orkut or Facebook.

With Friend Connect is possible to insert in a web page to make a code appear on the site content from a social network, such as lists of friends, photo galleries, message boards, lists or discussion groups on specific topics.

The contents and services from social networks will be integrated into websites as a separate module that can not be changed beyond the limits set by their developers.

The launch of this tool follows the same line of openness that MySpace already started to announce that enable its more than 200 million users using your profile off-site, websites like Yahoo, Photobucket, Twitter and eBay. Facebook has also launched a similar initiative with its Connect service.

Google has decided not to put Friend Connect available to all Internet users from the outset, and is gradually handing over invitations to those who seek to prove the scalability of the service.
